Please complete this form to the best of your ability. The better information we have, the easier and more fairly we can assign appraisers to the Challenges. Some appraisers will have much busier days than others depending upon how the teams select the Challenges they wish to solve and the competition level of those teams. You may be asked to appraise multiple Challenges. In this case, the CMs will strive to have an individual be a scoring appraiser in only one of the 2 Challenges that may be working together. 2 Appraisers are required from each team in the competition.
Before starting this form, you should have with you the following information:
1. Name, Address, City state, zip, and working phone number.
2. A working e-mail address you check regularly (Challenge assignment info with be sent here)
3. Team Number, team manager, School and Challenge/level of the team you are representing.
4. Information of what your experience with DI has been; # years Appraising, positions worked, etc
5. Any mobility problems, special needs (including lunch) you might have
6. Any family, close friends, students, who might be competing and who you should not be appraising
7. What Challenge/job duties you like to have this year (no guarantees here, kids)
Because of the above, we prefer that the actual appraiser complete this form.
Once you have completed this form, should anything occur that would prevent you from fulfilling your Appraiser duties you need to notify your Team manager, District Coordinator (if you have one) and Region 1 Appraiser Coordinator as soon as possible! To be a certified Tournament Appraiser or Official for the Region 1 competition you must attend the
Officials’ Training on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from
9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
Registration is from 8:30 am. to 9:00 am.

You will receive confirmation of your Official assignment, a copy of the Challenge, and all additional, necessary, informational materials from your DI Coordinator through your Team Manager. Please call or contact him/her if you have not received the materials by February 24. You must read all the information in your packet before coming to Official’s training and be sure to bring the material with you to training. The Region 1 competition will be at Youngstown State University on March 17, 2012. When you make this commitment, recognize that the team you represent will be assessed a score deduction if you do not attend both the Officials’ Training on March 3 , 2012 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. and complete your assigned tournament duties from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 17, 2012. (Or until released by your Challenge Master). Also, please be advised that you will not be able leave your job to see any performances on Tournament day in other Challenges or levels than the one you are appraising.
